no updates since march! that's pretty stupid actually. i keep meaning to start posting on here habitually, but it never happens. that is, not until i have two enormous term papers to procrastinate over. i spend virtually all my time these days working at the video store or with my face in an art book. or a chinese history book. i have time for very little else outside of work and school - i bought the herzog/kinski box set and i've only been able to watch one of the movies so far (aguirre - the wrath of god, which was completely mesmerizing)! i'm trying to plan a cathartic visit to castle fun park once my all my burdensome term papers are finished.
i haven't socialized with anyone for almost a week! my only social interaction these past few days has been via msn. except for my parents and my boss, who don't count. i spent all weekend at home being a snot zombie and laying around watching project runway and the IT crowd on youtube. and other random things on youtube. oh and i almost finished 'dress your family in corduroy and denim' by david sedaris.
i need a new job! and i need to be ENGAGED. SOCIALLY. interaction. with PEOPLE. FRIEND PEOPLE. and i need to get drunk!

2005 might not have been an altogether good year, but it was definitely an important one. it may not have been good, but it definitely wasn't bad. i have a lot of happy memories from this year. going to victoria, having emily present over the summer..
it was an important year because i stopped letting fear keep me from doing things i needed to do to make myself happy. in the past four months i've been honest with people i care about, told enormous secrets and other things like that which are completely contrary to how i normally conduct myself. and even though things are unsure and not exactly perfect right now, it feels better than sitting on things and letting them fester and doing nothing and wondering what things COULD be like like. jeremy and i toasted to that this morning (over coffee, not hooch, that'd be heinous)
i'll sum up new years with a handful of brief images and words: thomas hardy, noodle rashomon, bean curds in a milkshake glass, pho puns, this cute little two year old named brendon with a candle fixation, renita who seems like a really cool girl who can slide two meters across a hardwood floor holding a full drink and not spill a drop, shirazz, nut allergies, bee thousand, this game called 'pass out' where each square tells certain players to take a drink or 'light up' (the box claims it's NOT for minors and not for use with alcoholic beverages. so it's a.. milk drinking game? for adults?), burning my thumb, dancing to tatU, and other shitty ideas that seem awesome after too much red wine and beer.

2005 was also the year i started actually trying at school. i plan to continue that into this year and onward. i don't know what my new years resolutions are for this year, apart from that. i'd like to get in shape, and move out. but the other things (there's only one, really) i'd like to happen this year aren't things i can really control, beyond what i've already done.
